Katya Arenina was selected for the 2024 Shortlist with Lapdogs of War: A Guide to Russia’s Wartime Oligarchs.

Katya Arenina is an investigative reporter with Proekt since 2022, specializing in anti-corruption investigations and social issues coverage. A graduate of St. Petersburg State University’s Faculty of Sociology in 2015, Katya’s career prior to joining Proekt includes significant contributions to human rights defense with Team 29 (now known as the First Department), and journalism with Russian media outlets The Bell and IStories.
