Andreas Babst

Andreas Babst was selected for the 2022 European Press Prize shortlist for ‘Who will help the Gurkhas now? Thousands of Nepalese came to Afghanistan to work for Westerners and were forgotten there.’

Andreas Babst, born in 1990, started writing at his regional newspaper in Lucerne, a small town in the centre of Switzerland. After University he started with Switzerland’s oldest daily Neue Zürcher Zeitung as a sports editor. In 2020 they asked him if he wanted to move to India. He lives in Delhi now and travels through South Asia.
