Sonya Savina is a data-reporter for IStories, an investigative media organization based in Russia. Her area of interest is to unveil social problems in Russia through the open data. Before IStories she worked for RBC, Proekt and Conflict Intelligence Team.
Roman Shleynov
Roman Shleynov has won the 2021 European Press Prize Investigative Reporting Award with ‘Kirill and Katya: Love, offshores, and administrative resources. How marrying Putin’s daughter gave Kirill Shamalov a world of opportunity.’
Roman Shleynov was working as a correspondent for Moscow-based newspaper Novaya Gazeta from 1999, and then as an investigations editor. In 2010 became an investigative journalist for Vedomosti, a Russian-language business daily that was a joint venture of The Wall Street Journal and Financial Times.
In 2016 Shleynov joined The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) as a regional editor for Russia. He has worked on several major transnational projects for OCCRP, including “Secrecy For Sale: Inside The Global Offshore Money Maze”, “Swiss Leaks: Murky Cash Sheltered By Bank Secrecy”, “Troika Laundromat” and “Panama Papers”, also as a member of The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ).
From 2020 Shleynov is an investigative editor for “Important Stories” (IStories) – the independent online media founded by Russian journalists.
He has won a number of awards for his work, including the Paul Klebnikov Prize for Excellence in Journalism, the Transparency International Integrity Award, the ZEIT Foundation of Hamburg Free Press of Russia Award, several Russian Union of Journalists Awards and the 2019 Moscow Union of Journalists Award.
