Agnete Brun

Agnete Brun was selected for the 2020 European Press Prize for ‘Inger’s Last Wish.’

Agnete Brun (b. May 7, 1968) is best known for her many years as staff photographer with the newspaper Dagbladet Magasinet, but is currently working as a freelancer. Agnete was the first woman to receive The Photography Award (Fotografiprisen), awarded to her by Queen Sonja. Agnete Brun was given the award for contributing to renew the photographic expression through both single shots and photography series. Colleagues describe Agnete´s work as imaginative and genius. On a personal level, she is described to be caring and warm, given the opportunity to experience a genuine contact with the people she photographs. She has had several exhibitions, illustrated books, photographed album covers and Magazine Covers and many documentary stories. Agnete Brun lives in Oslo, Norway.

Merete Skogrand

Merete Skogrand was selected for the 2020 European Press Prize shortlist with ‘Inger’s Last Wish.’

Merete Skogrand (36) has worked for the Dagbladet, Norway’s second biggest newspaper, for the last 11 years. She started as a journalist in the culture and news departments, and has hosted several shows for Dagbladet TV. She then led the Culture department for four years, before becoming head of reportage for Magasinet, Dagbladet’s award winning feature section. Merete lives in Nittedal, Norway.
