Marian Blasberg has won the 2019 European Press Prize Distinguished Reporting Award with ‘Fifty-Six Days of Separation

Marian Blasberg, 43, is a reporter with Germany’s Der SPIEGEL. Based in the magazine’s Rio de Janeiro office, he covers mainly latin-american topics. Marian studied philosophy and literature in Düsseldorf before he attended the German School of Journalism in Munich. After nine years at Die ZEIT, he joined Der SPIEGEL in late 2014. At the moment, Marian is on a sabbatical, taking care of his two small children.

Katrin Kuntz, born 1982, is a reporter and staff writer for Der SPIEGEL magazine in Hamburg, Germany. Before joining Der SPIEGEL in 2013, she attended the German School of Journalism in Munich, studied Spanish and French Philology and wrote as a freelancer for several German magazines and newspapers. Katrin reports from Asia, North America and the Middle East and has covered conflict zones worldwide. Working on a wide range of topics with a focus on socio-political issues she is always interested in what moves humanity.
