Massoud Hamid

Massoud Hamid was selected for the 2021 European Press Prize shortlist with ‘Rojava Diary.’

Massoud Hamid is a French journalist of Syrian origin. He has worked with France 24, France 2, BFM Arte TV, Al Moniteur and Outriders. He holds a Master’s degree in Journalism at Paris II and is a doctoral student at Paris-Sorbonne University. He won the 2005 cyber freedom prize from Reporters Without Borders and is director of the Nudem Media Association in Syria.

Björn Steinz

Björn Steinz was selected for the 2021 European Press Prize shortlist with ‘Sisters of Europe.’

Born in Germany, Björn Steinz has been taking photographs from an early age and began his career at a local newspaper in his hometown of Oberursel, Germany. He has a BA in photography and an MA in photography from the Prague Academy of Performing Arts. His work has been published in Du Magazin, Die Zeit, The Independent, Der Spiegel, Stern, The Open Society Foundations, National Geographic Traveler, among others. He teaches documentary photography and visual culture at the Anglo-American University in Prague, and is represented by Panos Pictures in London.
