James Dorsey
Dr. James M. Dorsey is a senior fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies and co-director of the University of Würzburg’s Institute for Fan Culture. An award-winning foreign correspondent who covered ethnic and religious conflict for 40 years across the globe for The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and Financial Times among others, James is the author of the widely acclaimed The Turbulent World of Middle East Soccer blog as well as a globally syndicated column.
James is also the author of several books including one with the same title as his blog, and Comparative Political Transitions between Southeast Asia and the Middle East and North Africa that he co-authored with Dr. Teresita Cruz-Del Rosario. James has three forthcoming books: Shifting Sands, Essays on Sports and Politics in the Middle East and North Africa; Creating Frankenstein: The Saudi Export of Ultra-conservatism; and China and the Middle East: Venturing into the Maelstrom.
